Last night saw the Sheffield Spartans win their last ENIHL north cup game and top the cup table with a 7 - 3 win over Flintshire. The Spartans now travel to Peterborough today to play in a one-leg national cup final.
After a slow start the Spartans went behind 2-0 in the first few minutes. A 5-0 second period saw the Spartans come back to take a comfortable lead and a 2-1 third period sealed the victory. The game had lots of penalties, which the Spartans took advantage of with a number of powerplay goals.

The Spartans last regular season cup game is this Saturday at ice-Sheffield (28th April, face-off - 7:00pm).
Sheffield are currently in third place in the ENIHL Northern Cup standings behind Flintshire and Blackburn. The Spartans need to win by 2 clear goals to progress to Sundays final, a one-leg game at Peterborough to decide the ENIHL Cup Champions. With the possibility of a final for both teams, this should be a cracking game.
