Game Preview: Blackburn vs Spartans

Spartans face up to another stiff task this weekend with a trip to Blackburn to face an in form Hawks team as both teams chase much needed points.

Hawks are very strong on home ice and are very difficult to break down, especially as these days they are roared on by a big crowd. Spartans don’t boast a great record in this rink and have struggled at times, just as we did earlier in the season when we lost 6-0. That has proven to be a one off performance this season and we’re hoping that it says that way. We have had our moments though in Blackburn and the lads are keen to make Sunday night another memorable one as they bid to close the gap in their chase for a play-off spot.

In our other meeting the game was a lot closer ending 1-1 and to be honest you couldn’t get a more contrasting two games. On our day we are capable of beating any team as we have proven but Hawks at this moment in time are bang in form and appear to have very few weaknesses, if any, with a very talented squad that has quality in depth. As results this season have shown, there are no forgone conclusions in this league and Hawks no doubt will be up for this one, just as Spartans will be which sets things up for another god night of hockey between these two teams.

So don’t be one to miss out, make sure you are there in Blackburn Sunday 2nd February for a 5.45pm face off!
